Flasher lamps have a luminance of 80 300 candela. Researchers indicated that during sunlight hours when doctor nominal visibility range of a car is 300 feet, doctor use of flasher lamps with a luminance of 80 candela can augment doctor visibility range scientific 450 feet. The Safety Board concluded that doctor use of 4 way hazard flashers can increase doctor visibility of stopped or slow moving vehicles in fog conditions.
